1914. Black Sesame Ice Cream With Shiratama. Ice Cream with glutinous rice balls. Creamy and chewy. Here’s the recipe!
This by far, is the most delicious ice cream flavor I’ve tasted. Black Sesame with Rice balls is perfect!
I was watching an old episode of Strong Heart where KARA guested. They talked about how they were starstruck when they were guested on a Christmas special for Music Station and Sungyeon said it was amazing because they were surrounded by people who were incredibly famous in Japan like SMAP (with Kimura Takuya, who is well-known even in Korea), Yamashita Tomohisa from NEWS, and Matsumoto Jun from Arashi.
Kang Ho Dong breaks in and goes, “So it’s like being near Won Bin, Jang Dong Gun, and Rain at the same time.” Then Leeteuk, Shindong, and Kang Ho Dong start talking about how SMAP is like H.O.T and Arashi is like Super Junior. And how even though Arashi is the best in Japan, Super Junior is the best in the world…?
UM. NO.
SMAP has been around since 1991. TWENTY ONE YEARS they’ve been in the business and it’s not like they’re nobodies either. H.O.T was only around for a mere five years before disbanding. And Arashi? Debuted in 1999—six years before Super Junior even debuted—and are the undisputed number one male group in Japan, still breaking the million mark when they release a new single or an album, even though it’s been almost THIRTEEN YEARS since they debuted.
The difference between SMAP & H.O.T and Arashi & Super Junior are too great. You can’t compare them because SMAP and Arashi are on a completely different level in terms of consistent popularity and longevity in their careers.
This is what I hate about the mentality of Korean media. It’s fine to overhype the Hallyu Wave and Korean idols as much as they want, but the way they rip other people apart to make their idols look good is fucking pathetic. What’s worse is that Koreans and international kpop fans actually buy into the bullshit they’re saying and now have this huge ego about the Hallyu Wave, especially in Japan.
s!b = Among kpop fans, this is a very unpopular opinion. I don’t want to deal with the idiotic responses that would follow if I posted this on my personal blog.
ALL OF THIS, REALLY. And it’s not just in music, even fictional dramas. Specially the fans of immensely popular ones.
I’ve nothing against Suju and HOT and Kpop all together but I agree with this kpop secret.
Simply put, SMAP and Arashi are already an institution in the Jpop industry.
Oh well, nothing good really comes out of comparing…it starts the whole fan war shit…
